Battle of Puppets, from Small Wonders, is a quirky little 2-D castle defense strategy game that puts you in the role of a puppeteer starring in well-known operas such as Aida, Carmen, Madama Butterfly and Salome.

As you would expect for this genre, Battle of Puppets pits one castle against the other, each on opposite sides of the battlefield. You manage units, while balancing their relative strengths and weaknesses against those of your opponent. In short, it’s a classic, castle-versus-castle, real-time strategy game.

Your objective is to travel across the United States, while defeating other puppeteers, and make it to Broadway. As the campaigns progress, players can unlock up to six professions – ranging from Ninjas to Vikings – as well as learn to repair their troops, and cast spells over the enemy. (…)

Here’s a quirky little no-brainer of a game for you… just touch your iPhone’s screen to make Helichicken go up, release to let him (or her? or it?) fall, and avoid making contact with all the wacky obstacles looking to end your game.

Helichicken is one of those hand-drawn doodle-style apps and there’s not much to it but if you’re into simple endurance games where the sole object is to not screw up for as long as possible then this one might be worth a shot. Bale would be doing everyone a solid if he (or she? or they?) would enable OpenFeint and throw in some more interesting powerups, but hey what the hell… it’s free! And it’s Monday! And you don’t really feel like working or studying anyway!

More than just a color wheel, Palette.able is a color compatibility app that allows users to select and compare two colors at a time, breaking down their compatibility into percentages. If you frequently find yourself wondering whether two colors match, have difficulty choosing a tie or wardrobe accessories, or are big on DIY decorating, then Palette.able may be perfect for you.

With Palette.able users can select colors from the in-app color wheel, or use photos taken with the iPhone camera. With an interface and appearance similar to functions in Photo Shop, using photos with Palette.able implements a selection tool allowing users to choose the area of a photo containing the desired color to use. There is a custom color tool available that also allows user to adjust a selected color by lightening or darkening the color, as well as reducing or increasing the amount of red to help ensure a more accurate reproduction.(…)
